Privacy Policy
Who we are
UNMOON is provided by Sole proprietor (FOP) Ahafonov Rodion Andriiovych (ФОП Агафонов Родіон Андрійович), 5 Sumska St., Kharkiv, Ukraine ("we"). Contact: help@unmoon.app. We are the controller of the data described here.
The short version
- No account, no advertising, no tracking across apps, no sale of data, no device location.
- Your name, journal, mood check-ins and Time Capsule letters stay on your phone.
- Birth details are sent to our service only to calculate charts and are not stored there.
- You can delete everything from the app at any time.
Stored on your device
Your display name, birth date, time and place, the people you add in BONDS, your archive (notes, Shadow Notes, check-ins, saved readings, Time Capsules), settings and caches. Birth details and BONDS people are kept in the system's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). The archive is kept in the app's private storage and is not additionally encrypted by UNMOON.
What leaves your device and why
- Chart calculations. Birth date, time, the coordinates of the birth place and time zone (also for people you compare in BONDS) are sent to the UNMOON calculation service. Your name is never sent. Requests are processed in memory and not stored; server logs contain only the request path, status and duration.
- Oracle (optional). When you ask a question, it is sent to our service together with your birth details (for calculation) and anything you choose to attach. Our service sends the calculated positions, your question and the attachment to our AI provider, OpenAI, which writes the answer. Your name, birth date, time and place are not sent to OpenAI. OpenAI processes this data as our service provider under its API terms; requests are sent with storage turned off, and API data is not used to train OpenAI's models. Conversations are kept on our service under an anonymous identifier so you can return to them, until you delete them or your profile. To prevent abuse we keep a keyed hash of your IP address, not the address itself.
- Subscriptions (optional). Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, Inc., linked to the same anonymous identifier.
- Notifications (optional). If you turn on the Daily Signal and the service delivers it, we store a push token, your chosen time, time zone, language and notice style, and the identifiers of prepared signals. Notices go through Expo and Apple or Google. By default a notice says only "Your daily signal is ready."
- Place search runs on your device over a built-in list of places (GeoNames); what you type is not sent anywhere.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process data to provide the app you asked for (performance of a contract) and, for birth details that you choose to give us, with your consent, which you can withdraw by deleting your profile. We keep the hashed IP address for abuse prevention (legitimate interest).
Retention and deletion
"Profile › Delete my profile" removes all data on the device and everything our service holds for your anonymous identifier, including Oracle conversations, usage counts, subscription status and notification settings; the record held by RevenueCat is deleted as well. If you are offline, the deletion is retried the next time the app opens. Without the app, see Delete your data. Deleting data does not cancel a store subscription. We do not keep separate backups of the service database.
Service providers and transfers
Our server is hosted in Ukraine (Hosting Ukraine LTD). Our providers are OpenAI (AI answers), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Expo, Apple and Google (notifications and purchases). Some are located in the United States; transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses.
Age
UNMOON is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly process data of anyone younger.
Your rights
You can access, export (Archive › Export), correct and delete your data in the app. You may also contact us at help@unmoon.app and complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
We will update this page and the date above when the policy changes, and tell you in the app about material changes.
